Parksville’s Greig Road Project

Protecting Nature. Creating Homes. A Balanced Plan for Parksville’s Future.

From Private Land to Public Park:
A New Vision for the Greig Road Property

A new proposal for the Greig Road property offers a rare opportunity to protect nature while addressing Parksville’s growing housing needs. The plan would permanently conserve approximately 100 acres of forest and riverside land through a partnership with the BC Parks Foundation, ensuring public access to trails and natural areas for generations to come.

The remaining portion of the 140-acre property would accommodate a carefully planned neighbourhood on about 32 acres, providing up to 405 low-rise homes designed for Parksville’s “missing middle.”

These homes are intended for local families, workers, and retirees who want to remain in the community but currently have limited housing options.

The proposal reflects a thoughtful balance: protecting the environment, maintaining public trail access, and creating housing that supports Parksville’s future while respecting the natural character of the Englishman River area.

You can view the full presentation below to learn more about the proposal and the vision behind it.
